Gazipur: Raghuvanshis from Indore was on honeymoon in Meghalaya when he disappeared. There was an intensive search operation in the green peaks of the state and in the serene mountains. A week later, the disintegrated body of King Raghuvanshi was found in a gorge in the eastern Khali hills. But Sonam Raghuvanshi had no mark. His family feared that he could be kidnapped. A twist came a few days later. Sonam was accused of hiring contract killers to eliminate her husband. There is a time -term of Chilling Murder Mystery that has caught the headlines for weeks:The 29 -year -old Raja, and 24 -year -old Sonam Raghuvanshi, was married on 11 May. On May 20, he left for his honeymoon. He investigated at Balaji Guest House in Shillong around 6 pm on 21 May.
The couple went out in the morning and rented a two -wheeler from the Keating Road. They returned and investigated. They went with two luggage bags, informing the manager that they would return by 25 May and will be called if they need a room. He was ready for Sohra, a popular tourist destination in Cherrapunji, on Scooty. On the way, they stayed in Mawlakhiyat village of Eastern Khasi hills. He parked his vehicle and hired a local guide for a trek for Shipara Homestay in Nongarit village.
In the morning, the couple was last seen together. He had checked out of Shipara Homestay and was reported to be disappeared after that. The last place picked up by his phone was Nongrite. From here, Sonam made his last phone call to her mother -in -law. In a clip of her conversation that emerged later, she was clearly painting due to a “hard trek”. The guide, who was at work by the couple, claimed that he did not put his services back on the path of Mawlakhiyat. He told him that he would manage his return.
The search for the couple continued as they remained unpublished for more than 24 hours. The mystery was deepened that the scooty he had rented was released in Sohrim village. But still there was no mark of Raja or Sonam Raghuvanshi. the hunt is on.
The owner of the abandoned scooty was found and informed the police station. It was then revealed that the Indore couple had rented a vehicle from him.
The police started a search operation in Sohrim, where his scooty was found.
A semi-decomposed body was seen by a drone in a gorge near Wei Sodong Falls. The body was later identified as King Raghuvanshi.
The Meghalaya police announced that they had received the victim’s mobile and “Dao” (mawt), which was used to kill him from the place where his body was found. “This is a clear case of murder. There is no doubt that he was murdered, “Vivek Sim, Superintendent of Police of East Khasi Hills (SP) said.
Blurry CCTV footage has emerged from a Shillong hotel where the couple had stayed on May 22. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that his government would not leave any stone to ensure justice in the murder of a tourist. He also assured the couple’s family that they were trying to find Sonam, which was still inaccessible.
Sonam remained unreachable for three days after her husband’s body was discovered in the gorge, causing deep concern among his family members. His brother, Govind Raghuvanshi, expressed his belief that she might still be alive and possibly abducted. He has also urged that the case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation.
Shortly before the disappearance, the couple was shown in the new footage. He was seen reaching homestay on his scooty in one of the videos. Another showed the king to welcome homestay, apparently before checking out. The climax came at night. Her father said that Sonam reached Gazipur late last night and dialed her brother, after which the police reached the spot and took her. UP police said they found him with mild fever at Kashi Dhaba in Nandganj, while the Meghalaya police claimed that he surrendered under pressure. He was later arrested along with three other people. Sonam will be handed over to the police as soon as he reaches the gazi.

The couple was 29-year-old Raja (King) Raghuvanshi and 24-year-old Sonam Raghuvanshi from Indore. They got married on May 11 and left for their honeymoon on May 20.
They were last seen together on May 23 after checking out of Shipara Homestay in Nongrait village, Meghalaya. After that, Raja went missing, and Sonam remained untraceable.
The couple remained out of contact for over 24 hours. Their rented scooty was later found abandoned in Sohrim village, which intensified the suspicion and led to a police investigation.
On June 2, Raja’s semi-decomposed body was located in a gorge near Wei Sodong Falls using drone surveillance.
Sonam was accused of hiring contract killers to murder her husband. She remained missing for several days before being located by police at Kashi Dhaba in Nandganj, Uttar Pradesh. She was later arrested along with three others.
