This decision with a bigger business trend popular among tech giants like Amazon or Meta which have opted for similar employee strategies to improve workforce performance. The good attrition policy by Microsoft will improve the overall target achievement by the company. The world is viewing this change in Microsoft’s employee management policy as a strict action against all those employees who are not in a position to deliver their best at their job. An internal mail from Microsoft’s new Chief People Officer, Amy Coleman informs that employees who get the lowest rewards outcomes that are 0 or 60% or are below a PIP will not be worthy for internal transfers. This is actually a shift from the company’s traditional lenient approach towards employees to this new strict and efficiency based employee policy. CEO Satya Mandela had proposed a more employee friendly policy by Microsoft but now the company is planning to change its approach towards the employees. 

The company has shifted from its strict policy a few years ago but now the company is planning to get back to its older and strict employee management policy. Methods like Stack ranking were ruled out but now the company is planning to implement them in their operations. The employees will need to meet their targets well.
