This visit highlights the central government’s focus on strengthening national infrastructure and promoting economic growth under the ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiative.

PM Modi in Kerala:

In Kerala, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport to the nation. Located near Thiruvananthapuram, this ₹8,900 crore project is India’s first container transshipment hub and is strategically situated near major global shipping routes. With a natural depth of 20 meters, the port is expected to significantly improve India’s maritime logistics, reduce dependence on foreign ports, and boost the country’s presence in global trade.

Relaunch of Amaravati Capital Projects:

Following the Kerala event, PM Modi will travel to Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh to launch projects worth over ₹58,000 crore. These include seven National Highway projects aimed at enhancing road connectivity to prominent religious and heritage sites such as Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Malakonda, and Udayagiri Fort.

Additionally, the visit will feature key railway developments such as the doubling of the Bugganapalle Cement Nagar–Panyam line, the construction of a third line between New West Block Hut Cabin and Vijayawada, and a Rail Over Rail corridor between Guntakal West and Mallarma Gate to ease junction congestion.

The foundation will also be laid for major infrastructure in Amaravati’s capital region, including new buildings for the Legislative Assembly, High Court, and other administrative offices. A large-scale housing project for over 5,200 families and a ₹17,400 crore urban infrastructure plan will also be launched. This plan includes a 320-km urban transport network integrated with flood control measures and underground utility systems.
